We are seeking a skilled and highly organized Conflicts and Intake Analyst to join our prestigious law firm. The Conflicts and Intake Analyst serves a role in maintaining client confidentiality and protecting the firm's reputation by conducting thorough conflicts searches and providing recommendations on potential conflicts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in analyzing conflict. This position is ideal for individuals who have exceptional attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough conflict searches: Perform comprehensive conflicts of interest searches using internal and external databases to identify potential conflicts across various engagements and matters.
  • Analyze requests with an understanding of transactional, litigation and governmental matters ensuring submitted information is accurate and complete and identify instances where submitted information is not accurate or complete.
  • Evaluate conflict waivers: Assess requests for conflict waivers, thoroughly analyze the nature of conflicts and their potential implications, and provide recommendations to the firm's management, partners and attorneys.
  • Develop and implement conflict management procedures: Contribute to the development and implementation of conflict management strategies and procedures, fostering a culture of ethical and professional conduct throughout the firm.
  • Support the Firm's growth efforts: Assist in the analysis of lateral candidates and support integration efforts.
  • Enhance client service: Participate in the maintenance of Firm databases, including but not limited to Intapp Open, Intapp Walls, Intapp Terms and other systems used to manage and comply with client guidelines.
  • Train and mentor junior intake staff Provide guidance and mentorship to junior conflicts analysts, fostering their professional development and ensuring consistent adherence to conflict resolution protocols.
  • Research legal and regulatory requirements: Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to conflicts of interest, ensuring compliance and proposing updates to internal conflict policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality: Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion, ensuring that all conflict-related matters are treated with the highest level of confidentiality.

Qualifications:
  • At least 3+ years as a conflict analyst in a law firm or legal environment, with a demonstrated understanding of conflict resolution processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of ethical rules and risk management requirements governing conflicts of interest and conflicts resolution processes.
  • Confidentiality: Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and maintain the highest ethical standards.
  • Understanding of the type of work undertaken by a large law firm along with an appreciation of commercial and legal terms.
  • Proficiency in technical applications.
  • Utilize research applications such as Dun & Bradstreet, Capital IQ, and Hoover's.
  • Required Education.
    • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience.
  • Preferred Education.
    • Paralegal certificate a plus.
  • Preferred Qualifications.
    • Law firm experience, conflicts experience.
    • Intapp Open/Walls/Terms experience a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate professionally, clearly, concisely, and diplomatically both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be well organized, able to spend time on what is important, quickly zeroing in on critical tasks, sensing what will help or hinder accomplishing a task, eliminate roadblocks and see a project through from start to finish.
  • Ability to perform tasks accurately with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze and summarize conflict situations, articulate potential issues, and suggest resolutions to attorneys as required.
  • Ability to articulate an understanding of legal relationships and the nature of representations undertaken is essential to meet the minimum performance standards of this position.
  • Exhibit a high degree of initiative in exercising independent judgment and decision making in order to handle multiple functions in a fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment and adapt quickly to changes in workflow, processes and procedures.
  • Issue tracking, follow-up, and resolution skills are essential.
  • Ability to learn and utilize specialized internal conflict checking software and multiple software applications and workflow processes of various departments.
  • Ability to communicate with courtesy and diplomacy and respond effectively verbally and/or in writing to the most sensitive conflict inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to apply both logical and common sense understanding to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, and diagram forms.
  • Analytical skills requiring an aptitude for detail and accuracy.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to provide a quality, accurate and efficient work product in a high-volume environment are necessary.
  • Proven follow-through skills and the ability to troubleshoot.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and assignments while maintaining tight deadlines.

The pay range for this position is $92,000 - $115,000. The pay range provided is in compliance with state, city, or local employment laws and applies to this location only. Actual pay for this position will be determined based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, current market data, and business needs.

Physical Demands:
