Horizon Health is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility comprised of 25-inpatient beds located in Paris, IL & a multitude of outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. We have been serving residents of Edgar County since 1968 though community education, emergency services, and outpatient care. Position Summary:

The Computer Technician is responsible for working with systems users and meeting their hardware and software needs. Assist end users with performing their jobs more efficiently. Routinely troubleshooting of software and hardware problems. The Computer Technician may help with problem definition, analysis of solution options within given limitations, recommend a best option, and implementation of selected course. Computer Technician must have a good understanding of both sides of this equation: the application or business process and the computerized process. Computer Technician must have effective communication skills to understand and to be understood by users who do not necessarily have robust technical skills.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities/Accountabilities):

  • Answer and address support calls, walk-up customers, and emails for second tier level technical support.
  • Resolve helpdesk service calls using documented procedures.
  • Handle Help Desk ticketing system
  • Solve routine issues and escalate complex issues based on priority and tier level of need.
  • Input problems and resolutions into standardized company support center application.
  • Support IT team members on support work.
  • Manage routine Computer Technician calls to ensure timely resolution.
  • Address help desk calls via phone, in-person and through email.
  • Provide technical support either by phone, remote access or site visits as needed.
  • Develop, execute, and follow IT operational policies, standards, and work instructions for end users.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through continuous status updates.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain internal and external support documentation.
  • Monitor critical infrastructure systems through industry standard monitoring tools and systems.

This position also requires on call for the department. This takes place during a rotation of staff members or as the facility needs due to staffing.

The responsibilities listed above are not all-inclusive; other activities may be required in support of the hospital’s goals and objectives.

Position Requirements:

  • 2 years of previous experience as a help desk technician, computer technician, or IT support required.
  • Experience in healthcare field desirable.
  • Must be capable of managing, troubleshooting, and resolving multiple issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Broad knowledge of hardware software systems, including databases, office applications, and operating systems.
  • Must be able to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift equipment.
  • Patience and understanding
  • Required to take on call though a staff rotation

Pay Range:

Pay ranges from $19.769/hour to $30.444/hour (rate of pay is based on applicable years of experience)
