Job description

Technician: Computer Equipment – Arlington Heights, IL

Are you looking for great pay & benefits, training, and opportunity for advancement? Are you the “computer guy” everyone goes to and has experience with troubleshooting and maintenance?

Hartford Technology Rentals has an immediate opening for a full-time Technician for computer equipment in our Arlington Heights IL office. We offer a great work environment, competitive pay, and a comprehensive benefit package (see below for benefits).

In this hands-on technical role, you prepare, check, and maintain Hartford computer equipment for orders.

Primary Duties:

  • Pick, prepare, test, and scan equipment for outbound orders
  • Provide exceptional phone support for clients
  • Communication with sales and client to ensure proper configuration of equipment
  • Perform Quality Control (QC) procedures on returning equipment
  • Accurately audit missing or damaged equipment
  • Occasionally travel for on-site technical support for customers
  • Clean and maintain equipment to a presentable state
  • Restock equipment back on shelves & in cabinets
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Assist in other areas of the lab and warehouse as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including occasional equipment deliveries and pick ups

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from high school or a GED
  • Experience working with a variety of IT-related devices including Windows & Apple laptops and PCs, Apple & Android tablets and phones, VR devices, multi-function office machines & printers, and document & wide-format scanners.
  • Strong technical skills and basic understanding of IP and Wi-Fi networks and hardware
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift fifty pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge in set-up, operation, and troubleshooting IT equipment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Equipment knowledge or ability to learn in disciplines other than IT
  • Advanced troubleshooting and equipment repair skills
