As a Systems Administrator, based in Middlefield (CT), you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across Windows-based environments, virtualization platforms, and networking systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, storage systems, and related infrastructure.
  • Administer and support VMware vSphere/ESXi environments, including provisioning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage Veeam Backup & Replication for data protection and disaster recovery.
  • Administer Active Directory in multi-domain environments, including GPOs, DNS, DHCP, and DFS.
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco and Aruba network infrastructure (routing, switching, VLANs, IP subnetting, 802.1Q trunks).
  • Support and maintain Ubuntu Linux servers and services.
  • Implement monitoring, configuration management, and reporting tools for proactive system management.
  • Develop and execute project plans, risk assessments, and contingency strategies.
  • Document best practices, procedures, and system configurations.
  • Provide after-hours support for infrastructure emergencies and occasional weekend maintenance.
  • Mentor and cross-train team members on emerging technologies.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Microsoft Certification (e.g., MCSE) or equivalent preferred.
  • Expertise in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, and Group Policy.
  • Strong experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server and desktop OS.
  • Experience managing environments with 75+ Windows servers and performing Windows and SQL Server upgrades.
  • Solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking, including routing, switching, and VLAN configuration.
  • Experience with SAN/NAS storage systems and protocols (iSCSI, NFS, SMB).
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Preferred: Certifications such as VMware VCP, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Aruba Certified Network Professional, or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server/Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and hybrid environments.
