Job Description

Due to the rapid growth of our IT Services group, we're adding a Network Support Specialist to our team.  We work with a variety of small to mid-sized organizations throughout Western NY and PA, including municipalities, libraries, and those in the hospitality and construction industries just to name a few.  In this position, the Network Support Specialist will handle third-tier support of service requests from our clients.

Essential Functions:

  • IT Support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft's core business applications and operating systems.
  • Support virtual environments using VMware and Hyper-V
  • Support of disaster recovery solutions.
  • Technical support at the network level: LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, Server Operating Systems, and security.
Qualifications
  • 2 or 4-year degree - OR - relevant experience in IT support field
  • 2 years of IT support or related technical experience
  • Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately
  • Advanced understanding of operating systems, business applications, cloud products, and network systems
  • Understand basics of Microsoft Active Directory
  • Have a working knowledge of NTF permissions, file sharing, and IPV4 subnetting
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office programs including Office 365 deployment
  • In-depth understanding of desktop operating systems Windows 7 and 10

Not only do we want you to have solid technical skills and an understanding of how technology is used to provide services, we also want great interpersonal skills.  You'll be working directly with our clients, so excellent customer service along with those interpersonal skills, is important!  Since we're also a small company, you'll be expected to be able to prioritize multiple tasks - using your autonomy and judgment - and adapt to changes quickly.
