Lead Manufacturing Systems Engineer

Help us build production systems that scale with confidence. You will combine manufacturing engineering expertise, project management, and process excellence to partner with internal stakeholders and suppliers. Your mission: evolve our methods, documentation, and designs to strengthen efficiency, reliability, manufacturability, and cost across product families.

  • Champion advanced troubleshooting and root cause approaches with measurable, recorded results.
  • Provide direct, day‑to‑day support to Operations to keep lines running and improving.
  • Own projects end‑to‑end—from development to delivery—with accountability for long‑term cost, quality, and delivery outcomes.
  • Qualify and validate production equipment and special processes to ensure capability and compliance.
  • Engineer robust processes and verify capability aligns with business requirements.
  • Create clear work instructions and training documents that sustain manufacturing proficiency.
  • Leverage statistical and financial analysis to uncover trends and opportunities to improve quality and reduce cost, lead time, and scrap.
  • Deploy Lean and Theory of Constraints to optimize cells, workflows, and teams against defined KPIs.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate and implement new manufacturing concepts, tooling, and equipment; build and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets.
First 90 days: what you’ll tackle
  • Map priority value streams and identify constraints; execute focused improvements using Lean/TOC.
  • Stand up or refine validation protocols for key equipment and special processes.
  • Publish or refresh work instructions and training content for critical operations.
  • Establish data views that blend statistical and financial signals to guide continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • BS in engineering plus 5+ years in manufacturing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated strength with problem solving and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • History of owning broad project scopes, setting priorities, and delivering on time.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator across functions to accelerate critical tasks.
  • Ability to lead Lean or TOC improvement initiatives.
  • Preferred: experience in ISO 13485, ISO 9001, or medical device manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent customer service skills in writing and speech.
  • Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Outlook).
  • CAD proficiency with SolidWorks or similar; working knowledge of drafting standards and GD&T.
  • Plus: familiarity with MasterCam, Esprit, Partmaker, or related CAM platforms.
  • Core proficiency: Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering.
