Summary/Objective: The Additive Engineering Technician will be responsible for providing the Additive Manufacturing Engineering Team with technical support to help produce prototype and production components. The Additive Engineering Technician's primary role will be to setup 3D printing machines, carry out 3D prints, and conduct part post processing. 

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and fulfill orders coming through the Prototype Work Center
  2. Effectively communicate with requesters from multiple departments (Engineering, Operations, Sales, Marketing, etc)
  3. Effectively convert CAD models to print files ensure the machine and process are properly set up
  4. Carryout successful printing of 3D parts using multiple 3D printing platforms
  5. Conduct material, part, and machine changeover on multiple 3D printing platforms
  6. Utilize work instructions, prints, and other engineering documentation to carry out standard work
  7. Perform dimensional measurements to verify acceptable print accuracy
  8. Document and store necessary process information, data, etc.
  9. Review processes and identify opportunities for improvement
  10. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve machine and system issues
  11. Ensure printing area/lab are clean, orderly, and safe.

Required Experience:

  1. 2-3 years' experience in a technical manufacturing environment
  2. Ability to setup and troubleshoot complex manufacturing equipment
  3. Independent, self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  4. Experience using CAD software, such as SolidWorks, to make small design modifications
  5. Ability to analyze and interpret data
  6. Analytical and creative thinker, problem solver, result-orientated and focused.
  7. Well organized, ability to prioritize a varied and fast-changing workload.
  8. Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with cross functional groups
  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, creative mindset.
  1. Preferred experience is 1-2 yrs in an Additive Manufacturing setting
  2. Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes

Education:

  1. 2 yr. Technical Degree/Certificate
