Job description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Psych - Behavioral Neurobiology, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I.
General Responsibilities
  • To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.
  • To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
  • To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Coordinates multiple neuroimaging research studies, some of which will be done independently and some alongside the other research lab coordinators.
  2. Collaborates with other entities, including the UAB Psychiatric Clinics, UAB Clinical Research Unit, UAB Highlands Hospital MRI Center, and Auburn University's MRI Center.
  3. Assists with participant recruitment, retention, and visit completion.
  4. Carefully maintains detailed paper and computer records of study participation.
  5. Consistently updates Principal Investigators on study progress.
  6. Will accompany research subjects to imaging centers, including the one located at Auburn University.
  7. Adheres to and consistently familiarizes oneself with all study protocols, IRB policies and procedures, and HIPAA.
  8. Completes all training required by UAB, the IRB, and or study sponsors.
  9. Performs general clerical duties such as answering and making phone calls, scheduling appointments, faxing, and scanning.
  10. Orders lab supplies through purchase order requisitions in ORACLE.
  11. Processes payment requests to pay invoices and submit employee reimbursements in ORACLE.
  12. May assist in compiling, editing, and proofreading written reports for both internal and external administrative offices.
  13. May perform data analysis using a variety of software packages.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Annual Salary Range : $43,890 - $71,320
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required.
