CAD Administrator - Engineering
BUSINESS: CIRCOR Pumps North America
LOCATION: Monroe, NC
DIRECT REPORTING: Director of Engineering Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking a CAD Administrator to join our Engineering Department. The CAD Administrator will serve as the subject matter expert for computer-aided design systems, acting as the primary point of contact for software, hardware, and user support. Team with corporate IT and off-shore locations to ensure all CAD data is managed efficiently, adheres to established standards, and integrates seamlessly with other enterprise systems.
Principal Activities
  • Manage CAD software installations, upgrades, configuration, and licensing for applications like SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or Creo (ProE) for Monroe, NC and Columbia, KY sites.
  • Lead the implementation of Product Lifecyle Management (PLM) / Product Data Management (PDM) systems to protect data integrity, manage user access, and maintain file security.
  • Monitor overall system performance, perform routine hardware/software maintenance, and manage databases.
  • Develop and maintain CAD libraries, standardization processes, and custom tools to improve efficiency.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce Pumps America's CAD standards, templates, and modeling procedures.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and assist staff with CAD software to maximize productivity.
  • Identify opportunities to improve CAD workflows, optimize system performance, and collaborate with IT for infrastructure needs.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities
  • Proven experience in CAD software administration (e.g., SolidWorks, PLM, PDM, Solid Edge, Creo /ProE).
  • Deep understanding of CAD software, PDM/PLM, and computer hardware troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train / assist users and work collaboratively with engineering and corporate IT teams.
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams in the context of complex technical projects.
  • Ability to serve as a project or team leader when required by the task or situation, while promoting appropriate positive influence and consensus building skills.
  • Lean 6 sigma certification is a plus.
  • Ability to travel (10% Domestic & International).

Education & Experience
  • B.S. Engineering or related IT field
  • 3 -7 years of Engineering / CAD Administration in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of API scripting for CAD customization.
  • Understanding of networking, operating systems, and SQL/databases.
