Job description

This position is hiring for 1st shift (Monday-Thursday 5:00am-3:30pm) and 2nd shift (Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-2:00am).
DESCRIPTION:
As a Mechanical Assembly Operator, you will assembly fabricated sheet metal parts and components to create a top-level assembly in a production environment. You are responsible for the quality of the parts being produced and must be able to operate the equipment and follow assembly instructions to meet/exceed established production rates. Other responsibilities may be assigned. Work with limited supervision.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Install/assemble hardware and components to meet customer specifications using the travelers, drawings, and assembly instructions.
  • Use correct hand tools and fixtures provided in the work area to perform work per assembly instructions.
  • Handle all assemblies with care to minimize damage (scratches, bends, etc.).
  • Meet production rates as set for each operation.
  • Accurately complete OCS and/or any other associated documentation in a timely manner.
  • Observe machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance hardware installation.
  • Comply with all appropriate Quality Standards and fully support the ISO Program.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination and Standard Work.
  • Comply with OSHA Requirements, Safety, Good Housekeeping and 5S Policies and Procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Required Qualifications:
  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Must have basic knowledge of mathematics.
  • Must have basic computer skills or willing to learn to clock in and out of jobs and report production quantities accurately.
  • Ability to be at work at scheduled shift time.
  • Ability to lift sheet metal parts occasional up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in high volume fast paced team environment.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend safety procedures, work instructions and other procedural documents.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Requires repetitive movement, bending or twisting.
  • Ability to work OT when required, including weekends.
  • Must be able to pay attention to detail and being attentive.

  • Previous assembly and/or sheet metal experience.
  • Ability to operate Forklift.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints, product specifications and quality documentation.
