Pharmacy Sales Representative - Sacramento, CA

Compensation: $70,305 Annually + Commission

Overview: Nexus HR is looking for a young, motivated, energetic, and hungry-for-growth sales professional who is willing to call and is ready to work towards growth and innovation in the Healthcare Technology and Pharmacy Services company.

About the job: 

The Pharmacy Sales Representative is responsible for prospecting and developing relationships with long-term care facilities, nursing homes, behavioral health organizations, and physician clinics. The representative will conduct in-person visits, engage key decision-makers, and convert prospects into long-term pharmacy partners through a consultative, trust-based approach. This role operates under structured leadership and offers significant career advancement potential within a rapidly expanding national organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Territory Development

  • Prospect, identify, and qualify new long-term care facility accounts within a 50-100-mile territory

  • Conduct scheduled and cold-call in-person visits to nursing homes, LTC facilities, behavioral health centers, and physician clinics

  • Build and manage a strong CRM pipeline of prospective accounts

  • Convert leads into active pharmacy partners through consultative, relationship-driven selling

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned and prospective accounts

  • Build trusted relationships with administrators, Directors of Nursing, Medical Directors, and clinical staff

  • Coordinate onboarding with operations and clinical teams for smooth account activation

  • Escalate client concerns and provide structured feedback to leadership

Outreach & Communication

  • Execute daily outreach via phone calls to prospects and existing accounts

  • Schedule and conduct in-person facility visits across the territory

  • Ensure timely follow-up on all leads, referrals, and touchpoints

  • Represent the organization at healthcare events, trade shows, and industry associations as required

Reporting & CRM Accountability

  • Submit daily productivity and activity reports to the Vice President of Sales

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions in the CRM system

  • Provide weekly pipeline updates and territory performance summaries

  • Complete all required compliance training and documentation within deadlines

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience selling to long-term care facilities, nursing homes, or behavioral health organizations

  • Minimum 2 years of outside sales experience, preferably in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or medical services

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field

  • Familiarity with pharmacy operations, medication management, or long-term care regulatory requirements

  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent)

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage a large territory and multiple relationships simultaneously

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills - written and verbal

  • Valid California driver's license and reliable personal transportation
