Job description

The Compliance Testing Manager ensures that Servbank's operations adhere to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations and agency requirements through second line of defense oversight and testing. Own and execute a risk-based compliance testing program throughout the Bank, including testing of banking, lending, and servicing operations. This role leads second-line testing across regulatory requirements, evaluates control effectiveness, and drives meaningful remediation of issues. The ideal candidate understands how to translate regulations into practical test design and can operate in a fast-moving, evolving regulatory environment withing a rapidly growing bank.
About Servbank:
Founded in 1994, Servbank is a banking institution with local roots and national reach. We were built on a foundation of community-orientation, which ensures that no matter who we serve, we do so with the human touch that marks the gold standard of service. We work with individuals, businesses, and communities, so that whether you're a student, a homeowner, a small business owner, or a community leader, we can help you fulfill your goals. Come create excellence with Servbank.
Lead and Evolve the Compliance Testing Program
Execute and continuously enhance a risk-based compliance testing program across the Bank's mortgage servicing and banking operations. Maintain a dynamic testing schedule that reflects regulatory changes, emerging risks, business priorities, and identified issues.
Design and Execute Regulatory Testing
Develop and perform testing aligned with applicable regulatory requirements, including CFPB, FHA, VA, agency guidelines, and state regulations. Assess processes and controls at both the loan and operational level, evaluating not only compliance outcomes but also the effectiveness of control design and execution.
Drive Issue Resolution and Regulatory Readiness
Identify control gaps and root causes, partnering with business leaders to implement and validate corrective actions. Monitor remediation efforts, escalate material risks as appropriate, and support ongoing regulatory readiness efforts across the organization.
Provide Meaningful Reporting and Governance Support
Prepare concise, actionable reporting for Compliance, Risk, and executive leadership. Support key governance forums, including Risk Committee and Subservicing Oversight Committee activities, by providing testing insights and compliance-related updates.
Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration and Team Development
Provide leadership for the compliance testing function, including the potential development of a small testing team. Partner closely with business leaders, technology teams, and other lines of defense to promote consistency, accountability, and a strong risk culture across the organization.
Advance Compliance Technology and Automation
Support the continued enhancement of the Bank's proprietary Compliance+ platform by translating regulatory requirements and testing results into automated rules, monitoring capabilities, and actionable dashboards. Help bridge traditional compliance testing with scalable, technology-enabled controls that improve oversight and efficiency.
Requirements
  • 3-6 years mortgage servicing compliance, audit, or testing experience; loan origination and banking experience preferred, but servicing experience is essential to the success of this role
  • Hands-on experience executing compliance testing or audits (not just policy work)
  • Experience designing or enhancing a testing program (even informally)
  • Strong understanding of servicing regulations (Reg X, Reg Z, FDCPA concepts, agency guidelines)
  • Ability to analyze loan-level data and identify control gaps
  • Knowledge of MSP desired.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products. A strong understanding of Microsoft Excel is recommended.
  • Advanced Excel skills desired; experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Strong balance of strategic planning and hands-on execution are required.

Education and Experience
  • Experienced risk/control/compliance professional with at least 5+ years compliance, testing, and/or auditing experience in residential mortgage servicing. Deposit, Originations, and other Banking experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing environment.
