Job description

We are currently seeking a Casualty and Mass Tort Litigation Paralegal to join our Baton Rouge, LA office. This is a 100% in-office position offering the opportunity to work alongside experienced litigators on sophisticated casualty, mass tort, and complex litigation matters.
We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience and comprehensive knowledge of the litigation lifecycle from case inception through trial and post-trial proceedings. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, including case inception, discovery, trial preparation, trial support, post-trial matters, and case closure.
  • Prepare court filings, exhibits, and supporting documentation while ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable court requirements.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and other litigation-related documents.
  • Support attorneys during depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial proceedings.
  • Review, analyze, and summarize deposition transcripts, medical records, and other case-related materials.
  • Maintain case calendars, litigation deadlines, dockets, and matter tracking systems.
  • Coordinate and manage electronic discovery processes and document review projects.
  • Communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, experts, vendors, and other litigation stakeholders.
  • Assist with document management, case organization, and trial preparation activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 3 years of litigation paralegal experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the litigation lifecycle, including case management, document review, discovery, and trial support.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; Paralegal Certificate highly desired.
  • Experience drafting and responding to discovery requests and supporting complex litigation matters.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to take initiative and support team objectives.
