Job description

The expected salary range for this position is $92,330.00 - $108,476.00. Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential. This career specialist serves on a technical advising team to consult and provide implementation support for global program designs, initiatives and tools. The specialist provides competent knowledge in a given sub specialty in their field. At this career level, the incumbent works independently on moderate to highly complex issues. He or she may coach and/or oversee the work other specialists.

What will you do?
  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion's ministry in prayer.
  • Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children.
  • Understands Christ's mandate to protect children.
  • Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry.
  • Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion's Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct.
  • Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion's internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.
  • Champions and implements global program designs, standards and training tools in alignment with the ministry's objectives.
  • Serves as a key contributor among cross-functional teams to equip National Offices to provide holistic development to caregivers, children and youth.
  • Partners with Regional staff and stakeholders in order to provide strategically designed program implementation support and learning strategies of moderate complexity.
  • Focusing on Compassion's overall theory of change and outcomes framework, provides consulting in individual area(s) of specialization to National Offices.
  • Supports the design and development of Compassion's program models to be implemented globally, including theory, standards, activities, tools and resources and indicators.
  • Collaborates and partners with National Office staff and stakeholders and provides subject matter expertise within area of specialty.
  • Supports program data and provides ongoing subject matter expertise in using high quality data to measure program inputs, outputs, outcomes on a global scale.
  • Aids Regional staff by providing coaching and knowledge for measurement usage and interpretation.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert regarding metric creation, collection and usage.
  • Independently conducts special training and initiatives and consults with others regarding industry standards, national policies and best practices.
  • Identifies and analyzes moderately complex global program process problems and defines the scope of activities required to address the issues, including requirement definition, process review, impact assessment and operational streamlining where appropriate to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Prepare supporting documentation such as presentations, future state maps, success metrics, business requirements and related impact analyses.
  • Participates in the creation of new processes.
  • Defines relevant metrics and develops reports utilized to track overall program development and implementation success.
  • Analyzes data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Provides expertise and coaching to other program support and partnership staff in Regional and national offices as requested.

  • Preparedness & Resilience Planning: Ability to develop and strengthen systems, processes, and preparedness plans that reduce risk and improve the resilience of communities and local organizations before disasters occur.
  • Systems & Capacity Building: Experience strengthening local systems and market-based approaches to improve disaster preparedness and resilience, with the ability to analyze gaps, identify investments, and coach partners toward sustainable solutions.
