Job description

Compass Health Center is seeking a PRN Intake Therapist within our Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs. This role will work primarily virtually, and occasionally onsite with patients of all age ranges across our IL locations and virtual programs. The Intake Therapist is responsible for aligning new patients with Compass' PHP/IOP level clinical programs. By performing intake evaluations with new patients and their families, this role will understand the needs of new patients and will utilize their knowledge of Compass' program offerings to support patients with mood/anxiety disorders.

This role is flexible for number of hours per week as well as daily schedule. This PRN role is required to be available at least 6 shifts per month in order to remain in good standing with Compass Health Center. 

What You'll Do: 

  • Complete initial intake evaluation to determine diagnosis and appropriateness of program for patients of all age ranges served at Compass Health Center
  • Interface with program directors during intake process regarding patient appropriateness for programming
  • Work with patients and families regarding appropriate referrals if treatment at Compass Health Center is not indicated during intake
  • Screen potential intakes and answer questions from families, providers, and potential patients
  • Chart and communicate with our utilization review department regarding initial insurance authorizations
  • Partner with our marketing team to complete outreach efforts to community referral sources
  • Participate in professional development activities

Who You Are: 

  • Are a Psychologist or Master's level clinician with 2+ years of clinical experience conducting intake assessments and individual therapy (preferred)
  • Hold an independent clinical license in IL, WI, and/or MN
  • Knowledge and experience utilizing Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as other empirically supported treatments
  • Have previous experience with patients in crisis (preferred)
  • Have worked in a PHP/IOP, residential, or inpatient setting (preferred)
