Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.

About This Role

As the largest provider of PHP/IOP programs and psychiatric services in Illinois, Compass Health Center is one of the fastest-growing behavioral health organizations in the country. We are thrilled to expand our exceptionally innovative and highly distinguished programs that redefine our industry and raise the standard for comprehensive care.

Launching in late 2025, our newest location in Minneapolis, MN, is home to top local talent in behavioral health care. This interdisciplinary team of trailblazers will build our adolescent and adult programs from the ground up alongside the leadership of well-established clinicians and doctors working in PHP/IOP behavioral health care for the past decade.

We are seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about addressing the current nationwide behavioral health crisis, while working on interdisciplinary treatment teams within an organization that is redefining the standard of comprehensive PHP/IOP care. You will play a pivotal role in a growing, mission-driven environment that accommodates provider autonomy to create innovative and individualized treatments for each patient.

What You'll Do:
  • Performing complete initial psychiatric evaluation on patient to determine diagnosis and develop plan of care including medication prescription, if indicated.
  • Revising, prescribing, and implementing therapeutic regimen using an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Monitoring patient progress and providing collaborative treatment and communication with the treatment team.
  • Providing timely documentation of each encounter with a patient.
  • Ensuring patient/family education regarding clinical condition and relevant aspects of care.
  • Working in collaboration with treatment team members to ensure quality of care and consideration of services.
  • Maintaining required level of continuing education and preferred development activities.
  • Using interpersonal and communication skills that enable one to establish and maintain professional relations with patients, families, colleagues and other members of the healthcare team.
Who You Are:
  • Licensed or possess the ability to obtain license as an Advanced Practiced Nurse in the State of Minnesota.
  • ANCC National Board Certification in Psychiatry- PMHNP Certification.
  • Prescriptive Authority
  • DEA license
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota.
  • DNP or MSN from an accredited Nursing Program.
  • CPR certified
  • Experience with patients in crisis
  • 3-5 years' experience prescribing
  • Experience with multiple specialties including mood and anxiety, mental health and substance use, OCD and complex anxiety, and trauma.
