Job description

The Mary T Family of Companies is seeking a part-time Community Support Professional to support an individual with disabilities in Bladensburg, Maryland.
The Community Support Professional (CSP) supports individuals so they can live a self-directed life and participate in the community. Responsibilities include transportation (shopping, errands, appointments, to/from work), on-the-job coaching and support, activities of daily living, household chores, and teaching basic life skills like money management, budgeting, technology use, medication management, and more.
The Community Support Professional will need to be comfortable working independently with clients, with limited supervision. They will need to be self-motivated to find solutions for appointments, transportation, independent living and more. Ideal candidates will have compassion and empathy towards others, and a desire to provide great care. They will need be comfortable taking initiative, solving problems, managing their time, and paying close attention to detail.
This position will be responsible for working with 1 individual, during one of the two schedules specified below.
Schedules Available:
  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (24 hrs/week)
  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4:00 - 9:00 PM (15 hrs/wk)
  • Candidates MUST be able to work this schedule as listed.

Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have a valid driver's license, current auto insurance and a reliable vehicle
  • Flexibility to commute to other areas, if needed
  • Must have the ability to pass a background and motor vehicle record check
  • Must be able to attend a 4-day orientation held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in Millersville, MD
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
