Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough industrial hygiene assessments focused on chemical hazards, including airborne contaminants, toxic substances, and chemical handling processes in manufacturing settings.
  • Perform air sampling, noise monitoring, and other exposure assessments using specialized equipment to evaluate employee exposure levels.
  • Analyze industrial hygiene data to identify potential health risks and develop effective control strategies such as engineering controls, administrative policies, and PPE recommendations.
  • Develop, implement, and manage chemical safety programs, including Hazard Communication, Chemical Hygiene Plans, and exposure control plans.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard (HAZCOM), Process Safety Management (PSM), and other relevant regulations pertaining to hazardous chemicals.
  • Collaborate with EHS, production, and management teams to integrate industrial hygiene practices into daily operations.
  • Lead incident investigations related to chemical exposures and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
  • Conduct employee training on chemical hazards, safe handling procedures, and emergency response protocols.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to chemical safety and industrial hygiene.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in industrial hygiene within a manufacturing environment involving hazardous chemicals.
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, including HazCom, PSM, and other chemical safety standards.
  • Proficiency with industrial hygiene monitoring equipment and software for data collection and analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Working Conditions:
  • Primarily industrial/manufacturing facility environment.
  • Will require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Hazardous materials environment.
