Summary:

The Community Services Coordinator serves as the welcoming face of both St. Austin Center and Pan De Vida, rotating between both locations on a scheduled basis. This position blends front desk reception and customer service with community program coordination and general administrative support. The ideal candidate is warm, organized, and comfortable engaging with a wide variety of visitors, community members, and staff. This role requires reliability, a positive attitude, and a genuine commitment to serving the community.

The Community Services Coordinator is expected to behave in a manner consistent with the Core Values and must collaborate with other Associates and departments to ensure the overall mission is achieved.

Responsibilities:

  • Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.

Front Desk & Guest Services

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all visitors, partners, and guests at both St. Austin Center and Pan De Vida, providing a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Answer and route phone calls, take messages, and respond to general inquiries in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Greet walk-in visitors, direct them to the appropriate staff or program, and maintain a log of building guests as needed.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized front desk and reception area at both locations.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the building entrance by following visitor protocols.

Administrative & Scheduling Support

  • Assist with scheduling meetings, conference room reservations, and coordination of building logistics.
  • Prepare and distribute basic correspondence, memos, and meeting materials as directed.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
  • Order and maintain inventory of office supplies.
  • Provide general clerical support such as copying, scanning, filing, and data entry.
  • Support staff and leadership with special projects and tasks as assigned.

Community Program Coordination

  • Assist with planning and coordinating community outreach events and program activities under the direction of program leadership.
  • Support recruitment, registration, and onboarding of community program participants.
  • Maintain accurate records and files in compliance with organizational policies and any applicable program requirements.
  • Help prepare reports and summaries related to program activities and attendance.
  • Communicate with community partners and outside organizations in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Support the coordination of volunteers, drivers, or other logistics for community events as needed.

Teamwork & Culture

  • Collaborate respectfully with staff, volunteers, and community members across both locations.
  • Represent the mission and values of CHRISTUS Health and the broader community in all interactions.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and organizational events.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information encountered in the course of the role.

Job Requirements:

Education/Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required

Experience

  • 1 - 2 years of experience in customer service, reception, administrative support, or community-facing work preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and community programs is a plus
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
  • Friendly, professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities with a positive attitude
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable working at two different locations on a rotating schedule

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

  • None required

In accordance with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy, all Associates are required to obtain the required certifications for their respective positions within the designated time frame.
