Job description

Community Outreach Coordinator (Full-Time)
  • Organization: PHEPLE FCU

  • Reports To: AVP of Community Relations, Financial Literacy

  • Location: Greensburg, PA (Hybrid work environment with frequent travel across a 5-county membership field)

  • Hourly Pay Range: $18.43 โ€“ $27.65 per hour (Midpoint: $23.04/hr)

Role Summary

The Community Outreach Coordinator builds meaningful relationships between Pheple Federal Credit Union and the communities it serves. The primary focus of this role is operating the credit union's mobile branch to expand access to the THRIVE Financial Wellness Pathway.

This role actively engages local communities by providing financial education and counseling, opening accounts, taking loan applications, closing approved loans, and guiding members on using Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs)

Key Responsibilities1. Community Partnership amp; Relationship Management (35%)
  • Identify, build, and grow strategic partnerships with employers, schools, faith-based groups, local municipalities, human service agencies, and community organizations

  • Assess community needs to connect members and partners with the mobile branch and THRIVE financial resources

  • Represent Pheple FCU at community meetings, events, and outreach activities while coordinating schedules, logistics, and promotion

2. Mobile Branch Operations
  • Safely operate and set up the mobile branch across partner sites and outreach locations within the 5-county region

  • Deliver financial counseling, account opening, loan application processing/closing, and ITM assistance directly through the mobile unit

  • Maintain the safety, operational readiness, cleanliness, and security of the vehicle, member data, and organizational assets

3. Community Outreach, Presentations amp; Education
  • Develop and deliver engaging presentations, workshops, and educational activities on financial wellness and credit union products/services

  • Translate complex financial topics into clear, approachable, and accessible language for diverse audiences

  • Manage event supplies, equipment, and outreach marketing materials

4. Planning, Communication amp; Tracking
  • Manage the mobile branch and outreach calendar, including staffing, travel logistics, and internal communications

  • Record contacts, referrals, interactions, and service metrics to track results and recommend operational improvements

5. Additional Duties
  • Perform other related credit union projects, duties, and event support as assigned

Qualifications amp; Requirements
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in financial services, community outreach, relationship management, financial counseling, education, or customer service

  • Experience in account opening, consumer lending, public speaking, or partner development is preferred

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required

  • Certification: Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) is preferred. If not certified, candidates must be willing to complete the FiCEP program and gain the CCUFC designation within a set timeframe

  • Licensing: Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a driving record that meets credit union and insurance standards.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, influence, and relationship-building skills requiring high levels of diplomacy and trust.

Work Environment amp; Physical Demands
  • Environment: A hybrid office model with frequent travel across 5 counties. Work takes place in office settings, inside the mobile branch, at partner sites, and at outdoor events. Occasional early morning, evening, or weekend hours may be required.

  • Physical Demands: Must be able to safely drive and operate the mobile branch, enter/exit the vehicle, sit or stand for extended periods, use computer equipment, and lift/carry up to 30 pounds.
