STAFF PHARMACIST - RETAIL/COMMUNITY
Join the team in our new Portal Pharmacy at Moab Regional Hospital!
Portal Pharmacy, our newly completed retail pharmacy located at Moab Regional Hospital, is nearly ready to serve the community! If you're a detail-oriented, experienced retail pharmacist looking to utilize your skills and knowledge in beautiful Moab, Utah, this may be the right position for you.
This position is a full-time, benefitted position.
Anticipated schedule: 40 hours/week, with variable schedule to cover retail pharmacy operating hours.
Starting pay range:$131,040-$137,280 annually
Pharmacist Duties:
  1. Pharmacy Operations
  • Perform day-to-day pharmacy operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Manage inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and implement strategies to minimize waste and optimize inventory levels
  • Collaborate with suppliers and wholesalers to order medications, track deliveries, and maintain accurate transaction records
  • Understand fundamentals of the federal 340B program, how to maintain compliance, and how to utilize appropriately
  1. Medication Dispensing/Patient Care
  • Accurately interpret and dispense prescription medications in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, verifying prescription information for completeness and authenticity
  • Conduct regular medication reviews, including drug-drug interaction checks, and appropriate duration of therapy
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medication profiles and relevant documentation
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of patient information in accordance with privacy laws
  • Administer immunizations under defined protocols
  • Offer personalized consultations to patients and patient's families regarding medication-related concerns, proper medication usage, potential side effects, relevant medication precautions, and recommendations for over-the-counter products
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to prescriptions, insurance, and medication concerns promptly and professionally
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes, ensuring comprehensive medication therapy management
  • Provide exceptional customer service, foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere, and promote a patient-centered approach to pharmacy services
  1. Training and Education
  • Supervise and train pharmacy technicians and students (when applicable)
  • Remain up-to-date on all licensure and hospital education requirements
  1. Community Engagement
  • Represent the pharmacy in community outreach events and educational programs
  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare providers and community stakeholders to promote the pharmacy's services

Minimum Qualifications:
Required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in the State of Utah
  • Licensure to dispense controlled substances in the State of Utah
  • Provide daily consults with patients, patient's families, staff, and providers
  • Possess excellent communication, human relation, and computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant pharmacy software)
  • Self-motivated, able to work both independently, and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about financial aspects of departmental functioning

Preferred
  • Three years or more experience in a retail pharmacy setting
  • APhA Immunization Certification
  • Prior pharmacy management experience
