Job description

Employee Communications Associate

Non-profit Organization

$29.00-$33.00 per hour

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Columbus, Ohio

2–3 month contract


What You’ll Do:

  • Draft, edit, and distribute internal communications, including employee announcements, newsletters, and organizational updates
  • Prepare leadership communications, including emails, presentations, talking points, and executive-facing materials
  • Execute established communication plans while ensuring all content aligns with organizational messaging, branding, and approval processes
  • Build, update, and maintain intranet content using MangoApps while supporting the organization's transition to SharePoint
  • Maintain internal communication channels, including the intranet, email communications, and shared collaboration platforms
  • Coordinate video production activities, including scheduling, content collection, basic editing, publishing, and vendor collaboration
  • Support employee engagement initiatives through communication planning, event coordination, and logistical support
  • Coordinate the production and distribution of internal publications for employees, executive leadership, and board members
  • Manage communication requests, maintain editorial calendars, and provide project coordination support across multiple communications initiatives
  • Identify urgent communication needs, escalate issues to leadership, and support additional projects to ensure continuity of services


What We’re Looking For:

  • 2–3 years of experience in employee, internal, or corporate communications
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Intermediate proficiency with SharePoint and MangoApps (or a similar intranet/content management platform)
  • Experience developing and maintaining intranet content and internal communication channels
  • Professional presence with the ability to work directly with executive leadership
  • Strong writing, organization, and project coordination skills with exceptional attention to detail
