UT-SCM-13001-Commodity Management-ADV | Vista, California, United States [About the Role]
Join our Mechanical Fabrications Commodity group as a Commodity Management Specialist, where you'll lead strategic sourcing, supplier development, and contract negotiations to drive cost savings, optimize supplier relationships, and support high-impact manufacturing projects. This hybrid opportunity offers a dynamic work environment in Vista, CA, with growth potential and exposure to cross-functional project teams.
[Responsibilities]
  • Develop and implement commodity, sourcing, and supplier development strategies for Mechanical Fabrication Suppliers
  • Achieve key goals in supplier performance, product cost reduction, and supplier agreement management
  • Conduct RFQs, analyze bid results, and build compelling business cases to support sourcing decisions
  • Negotiate and administer contracts, including LTAs, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation
  • Coordinate supplier performance improvements and support onsite critical recovery plans
  • Partner with Operational Procurement, Engineering, and Program Management for seamless introduction of new programs and production transfers
  • Drive cross-functional projects involving buy-to-buy, buy-to-make, and make-to-buy transitions
  • Collaborate with teams to develop comprehensive commodity or supplier strategies

[Required Skills and Experience]
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
  • 3+ years in Supply Chain, Sourcing, or Commodity Management
  • 1+ year negotiating contracts
  • Experience creating RFQs and analyzing complex data
  • U.S. citizenship (required for program/contract compliance)

[Preferred Skills]
  • Background in Aerospace, Automotive, or Industrial sectors
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities with senior leadership
  • Proven project management experience
