Job description

Reporting to the Procurement Director, you will manage the procurement of wheat flour across the enterprise. You will source basis and mill feed, negotiate transportation and supplier margins, and support derivative purchasing activities through knowledge of physical grain markets, supply and demand economics, and commodity flows. You will manage all phases of contracts from entry through payment, participate in supplier management programs, support margin analytics for key brands, and lead cost savings initiatives within the wheat flour category. You will monitor category economics daily and contribute to commodity purchasing decisions while performing financial and economic analysis to support Enterprise Procurement. You will also have opportunities to expand into additional commodity categories as assigned.
A Taste of Your Responsibilities
  • Manage commodity contracting and position management with wheat flour suppliers.
  • Source basis and mill feed opportunities to support enterprise requirements.
  • Negotiate transportation costs, supplier margins, and contract terms.
  • Purchase assigned commodities according to quality specifications and market conditions.
  • Serve as the primary contact for manufacturing facilities regarding contract administration and management.
  • Manage all phases of contracts from entry through payment and resolution.
  • Lead vendor setup procedures and supplier onboarding activities.
  • Support supplier management programs and foster strategic supplier relationships.
  • Perform margin analytics and cost modeling for key brands and procurement initiatives.
  • Identify, develop, and execute cost reduction opportunities within the wheat flour category.
  • Analyze commodity markets, grain flows, and supply and demand fundamentals to support purchasing strategies.
  • Support derivative coverage reporting and commodity risk management activities.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, SAP, and internal systems to determine purchasing requirements and perform analysis.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and provide analytical support to the commodity procurement team.
  • Develop expertise across procurement systems and become a super user of multiple platforms.
Ingredients Required for Your Success
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, commodity merchandising, supply chain, or related experience.
  • Experience negotiating contracts, pricing, and supplier agreements.
  • Analytical and quantitative skills with proficient math capabilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including algebraic formulas, lookup functions, cross-referencing, and Pivot Tables.
  • Experience working with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Understanding of commodity markets, agricultural economics, grain merchandising, or supply chain fundamentals preferred.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on process optimization.
  • Process development and project management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and contract accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Curiosity to analyze commodities, markets, and business processes in a thorough and disciplined manner.

Compensation
Pay Range:$64,000-$95,000
The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee's actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees' equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
