Job description

The Opportunity

Daburn Wire & Cable is looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to become a strategic partner to our Warehouse Manager. This isn't just a role for spooling, shipping and receiving—it is a specialized position where you will master the intricacies of our warehouse and take full ownership of floor operations when necessary.

We aren't just looking for an employee; we are looking for the person the Manager trusts to keep the gears turning when they are off-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production & Precision: Master the art of spooling wire and cable to exact customer specifications. You will be responsible for the accuracy of every cut.
  • Operational Backup: Learn every facet of the Warehouse Manager’s workflow to serve as a seamless backup and "right-hand" leader.
  • Cross-Department Liaison: Interface directly with Sales and Purchasing teams to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and priorities are aligned.
  • Logistics Mastery: Execute professional packaging and shipping using UPS Worldship, FedEx, and DHL, ensuring all documentation is flawless.
  • Workflow Ownership: Maintain a "tour-ready" warehouse, managing labeling, sales order documentation, and inventory organization.
  • Technical Execution: Follow complex samples and technical directions to meet high-stakes industrial standards.

Qualifications

  • Excellent Communication Skills: You must be a great communicator, and you must be able to understand and speak English. Communication is essential in our warehouse.
  • Technical Aptitude: Comfortable working with small tools, spooling machinery, and mechanical equipment.
  • The "Lead" Mentality: You don't just see a task; you see a process. You can thrive in a fast-paced environment and take charge when necessary.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to handle the physical workload of a busy wire and cable facility (handling reels, standing, lifting).
  • Detail Obsessed: In the wire business, an inch matters. You must have a high level of accuracy in measurement and documentation, and you must understand basic math and how it applies to customer orders. You take time to understand and comprehend every detail of an order, and you ask questions if you don’t understand something.
  • Reliability: You are looking for a long-term home where your contribution directly impacts the company’s success.

Why Daburn Wire & Cable?

  • Direct Mentorship: You will be trained directly by our Warehouse Manager.
  • Stability: Join a team where your work is respected and your "ownership" of the warehouse is encouraged.
