The Role

As a Sales Engineer, you will identify, develop, and close opportunities for custom automation equipment and manufacturing solutions. You will serve as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them identify opportunities to improve their operations through automation technology.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Business Development: Prospect, develop, and grow relationships with manufacturers across automotive, medical, consumer products, industrial, and related markets.
  2. Customer Engagement: Visit customers, understand production challenges, and identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
  3. Opportunity Management: Gather technical requirements, coordinate with engineering teams, develop proposals, and lead commercial discussions.
  4. Pipeline & Forecasting: Maintain an active sales pipeline, manage opportunities through CRM tools, and provide accurate sales forecasts.
  5. Strategic Growth: Increase market share, develop long-term customer partnerships, and support company growth objectives.
  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, estimating, project management, and leadership teams to deliver winning solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years of industrial sales, automation sales, manufacturing engineering, or related experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 40-50%.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling custom automation or manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of robotics, machine vision, controls, assembly systems, and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with automotive suppliers, OEMs, and industrial manufacturers.
  • Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
