Anticipated Secretary

Adult Community Services - Day habilitation program for adults 21 and over with developmental disabilities Adult Community Services 1690 Stelton Road Piscataway, NJ 08854

POSITION: Anticipated Secretary Twelve (12) Month Position

REPORTS TO: ACS Program Executive Director START DATE: June 1, 2026 Pending State, Federal Criminal Background, Central Registry and CARI check

QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience in a professional office setting with clerical responsibilities. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Commission may find appropriate and acceptable. High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college education or business-related certificates are preferred. Ability to communicate effectively and positively with ACS participants and program staff. Should possess the following traits: dependable, considerate, flexible, conscientious, patient, responsible, professional, adaptable. Successfully complete trainings required by NJ Department of Human Services, Division of Developmental Disabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Handle receptionist duties. Including greeting ACS participants, handling phone calls and/or emails from participants' families/guardians, support coordinators, etc. Handle sorting, date stamping and distribution of mail for the program or department assigned. Provide clerical support to Adult Community Services Managing Staff when directed by the Adult Community Services Executive Director Monitor and maintain accurate staff and client records and files. This may include being a College of Direct Administrator. Monitor and maintain staff clock-in, mailbox system and copying log. Process requests for materials and supplies in a timely manner according to the business office guidelines. Input requisitions for Superintendent's Office, as requested. Must have the ability to keep information strictly confidential. Other duties as assigned by the Adult Community Services Program Executive Director and/or designee.
