Job Description

CLEP contractor identification and selection strategy:

  • Research via Internet or other means (word of mouth, known contacts in the industry, existing lists and databases, local chamber of commerce, etc.) contractors that perform work in the following areas.
  • Civil construction for foundation works.
  • Civil construction that does large earth moving (road, cut and fill, maybe even bridge construction, drainage systems, retention ponds, tree removal)
  • General building contractors that can take a design and perform all building erection, HVAC, Low voltage electrical (lights & receptacles), foundation
  • Industrial mechanical contractor that can manufacture and install from engineered drawings underground piping, cooling systems that incorporate large outdoor heat exchanger systems, cooling water skid, above ground piping, large industrial HVAC systems
  • Fire protection and detection contractors that can either design and install or at a minimum install industrial/electrical fire protection systems that may contain chemical or water deluge mechanisms for fire extinguishing.
  • Crane and rigging companies to off load heavy equipment onto foundations outside. ~500k lbs transformers
  • Materials management companies that will manage all equipment at site. This includes receiving, storing, inventory management, inventory reporting, shipment monitoring and scheduling, potentially hardware supply if they have the capability and it is cost effective.
  • Transformer installation contractor that can dress, vacuum oil fill, test large transformers
  • High Voltage electrical companies to install all high voltage AC and DC equipment related to HVDC yards. To include valve equipment, harmonic filters, switches, beakers , etc.
  • Testing and commissioning companies to test and commission all low voltage and high voltage equipment.

Contract support for CRM Site Works efforts:

  • Participate in bid screening process in support of proposal development regarding construction scope.
  • Support development of construction bid packages to solicit construction quotes for commercial proposals
  • Schedule and lead the development of construction Division of Responsibility matrices
  • Facilitate construction bid reviews with 3rd party contractors and engineering to assess bid scope, and pricing accuracy.
  • Facilitate construction bid summary efforts in support of final customer pricing
  • Communicate with 3rd party construction companies in response to RFI's (Requests for Information)
  • Support with the planning, coordination and execution of a construction fair

Desired Experience:

  • Experience or familiarity with cost estimating
  • Experience with electrical construction or general construction as it pertains to foundations, earth works and erection of structures
  • Capable of managing multiple bid/project efforts at one time
  • Proficient in the use of Office products at a general level
  • Familiarity with High Voltage/Medium Voltage electrical equipment as it pertains to electrical substations
  • Strong ability to communicate and function well in a team environment
  • Ability to be a self starter
Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a technical discipline
  • A minimum of 2-3 additional years of experience in Sourcing, Production Control, Distribution, or Production Planning
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically at least 20% of the time
