Some people answer phones. Others make people feel heard. At Emery Law Office, our receptionist is often the first source of calm and reassurance for clients facing difficult situations. We’re looking for someone who brings empathy, professionalism, and organization to every interaction. This is an in-person 8:30 am - 1:30 pm, Monday through Friday role. Comfort with social media and online communication is a plus, as this role includes interacting with prospective clients through multiple communication channels. Experience in customer service, hospitality, reception, or other client-facing roles is a strong asset. Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities: • Provide a positive and professional first point of contact with the firm in person, over the phone, or online via social media and our website • Coordinate incoming communications, including phone calls, emails, mail, and online inquiries • Schedule appointments and communicate relevant information to the appropriate parties • Manage paper and electronic files while upholding strict client confidentiality • Support the legal team with administrative tasks, including data entry, document preparation, filing, and office organization Qualifications: • You’re a warm, professional communicator who can build trust with clients from all walks of life — especially people experiencing stressful situations • You’re naturally organized and able to keep multiple moving pieces on track without becoming overwhelmed • You understand and appreciate the importance of being on time and consistent in your attendance • You’re tech-savvy – proficient in Office, G Suite, and social media platforms, and eager to learn our cloud-based systems • You value doing it right the first time, so you proofread your work and double-check the details • You are reliable, trustworthy, and able to maintain strict confidentiality • Due to the nature of our work, you must be able to pass a background and reference check Compensation: $15 - $17 hourly
