🔴 CRITICAL NOTICE BEFORE APPLYING: This is an Independent Contractor (1099) position. It is 100% commission-only with uncapped earning potential. There is no base salary, no hourly wage, and no corporate benefits package. This position is strictly for self-directed, entrepreneurial sales professionals who back their own ability to close deals.

Through professional meteorological analysis, livestream coverage, and client-focused updates, the company supports preparedness and continuity during severe weather events.

  • Our Market Leverage: During active Gulf Coast weather events, our digital platform expands exponentially, pulling up to 2 million views per week. We provide a high-traffic, hyper-localized ad space that local businesses desperately need when storms strike.


Role Description


The Independent Media Sales Rep is a 100% commission-based 1099 contractor territory role responsible for selling high-visibility sponsorships, advertising packages, and premium weather solutions to local and regional businesses.

This role manages the Southeast Texas / Greater Houston territory. It offers complete schedule flexibility, combining remote work-from-home tasks (prospecting, digital follow-ups) with strategic in-person client meetings in and around the Conroe, TX area.

Day-to-day tasks include identifying and qualifying high-ticket leads (such as roofing contractors, generator dealers, and storm attorneys), conducting outreach via phone, email, and in-person visits, presenting media packages aligned with client needs, and negotiating sponsorship agreements.


Compensation & Perks

  • Commission Rate: 100% Commission-Based (1099 Contractor) with a high-incentive, retroactive tiered structure:
  • - 10% commission on contracts up to $1,000
  • - 15% commission on contracts from $1,001 to $2,500
  • - 20% commission on all premium contracts over $2,500 (Rate applies to the ENTIRE contract value!)

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in outside sales, media, advertising, or sponsorship sales, with a proven ability to prospect and close new business.
  • Strong skills in client relationship management, including building trust and understanding local B2B business needs.
  • Effective communication and presentation abilities, both in person and virtually.
  • Solid organization, time management, and self-motivation skills to manage a commission-based workload without supervision.
  • Comfort working as a 1099 independent contractor, including managing your own schedule, pipeline, and basic business administration.
  • Familiarity with local and regional businesses in the Gulf Coast or Conroe, TX area; knowledge of weather or emergency preparedness industries is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for in-person client meetings in the territory.
