Job description


Title: Installation Technician (1099 Contractor)

Reports To: Business Contact

ROLE SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Installation Technician supports statewide deployments throughout Florida. This role is responsible for onsite installation of hardware and cabling around schools. The technician ensures that the heavy equipment is handled properly and has knowledge of hand tools. The project is scheduled to begin mid-June 2026, and the technicians will be working for 2 to 4 weeks at a time throughout the summer. Projects may take place after hours depending on the county/school and the project timeline may also be extended during the summer or school breaks.

This is a 1099 contractor role, on call as needed. All travel expenses will be paid for, aside from, per diem.

Pay: $225.00 per day.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be available to travel throughout the state.
  • Installing approximately 400 panels over a 4‑week period.
  • Handling panels/equipment weighing up to 150lbs.
  • Using basic hand tools and securely mounting TVs/panels to walls.
  • Following instructions accurately and working independently.
  • Driving a cargo van or box truck.
  • Performing cable management.
  • Carrying 50lbs consistently.
  • Climbing ladders comfortably.
  • Drilling into concrete walls when required.
  • Using Excel for basic documentation or tracking.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES

  • Experience with hardware installations.
  • Ability to execute work onsite in group settings.
  • Ready to be on your feet and lift throughout the day.
  • Ability to travel to multiple customer locations as needed.
  • Professional communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel 100% during the duration of the project throughout the state of Florida.
  • Overnight travel stays for multiple weeks as required by the project schedule.
  • Accurately submit travel expenses weekly.
  • Must be able to safely operate cargo vans and drive box trucks ranging from 16 ft to 26 ft in length.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • A valid and unrestricted driver's license, at the time of employment, is required.
  • No major traffic violations within the past 10 years (e.g., DUI, reckless driving, suspended license).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain necessary access and security clearances, including but not limited to State Driver’s Licenses, TSA/UEP clearances, Federal security, and School level clearances, relevant to your project.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to lift at least 50pounds routinely, occasionally up to100pounds.
  • Requires long periods of driving, standing, walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities.
  • Requires manual dexterity and ability to manipulate small objects as well as climb ladders.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is typically performed in a variety of school environments including exposure to heat, cold, and/or air particles such as dust.
