Position Overview
The Hot Food Production Commis Chef plays a critical role in high-volume meal production, supporting the preparation and execution of over 1,000 meals daily. This role requires strong culinary fundamentals, strict adherence to standardized recipes, and a commitment to food safety and quality. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced production environment and contributes to a collaborative, team-oriented kitchen culture.
ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Cooking – 45%Execute standardized recipes with precision to ensure consistency and quality
Prepare and cook hot food items (chopping, sautéing, roasting, reheating, portioning)
Support large-scale meal production aligned with daily output targets
Ensure proper portioning and presentation standards
Production Execution & Efficiency – 20%Follow daily production plans and direction from chefs and shift leads
Maintain speed and efficiency while meeting production deadlines
Assist in scaling recipes and adjusting workflows as needed
Food Safety & Quality Control – 15%Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and GMP standards
Monitor food temperatures and understand heat degradation during transport
Ensure all products meet company quality standards before distribution
Workstation Setup, Organization & Cleanliness – 10%Set up and break down stations with required tools, ingredients, and equipment
Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked work areas throughout shifts
Follow proper cleaning and sanitation procedures
Team Collaboration & Communication – 10%Communicate effectively with team members and leadership
Support team workflow and assist in resolving production challenges
Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude in a fast-paced environment
Required Qualifications- 1+ year of high-volume food prep, packaging, or kitchen production experience
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods
- Strong multitasking and time management skills
