The job of a commercial real estate lender is to process a commercial loan application filled out by a potential client. As a lender, your duties are to work as a liaison between the customer and the mortgage broker, or, if you work at a large enough financial institution, you may originate the loans yourself without the need for a broker. Your responsibilities include helping fill out paperwork, assessing the risks your client may undertake by purchasing commercial property, negotiating an interest rate, and defining the terms of repayment to avoid default.
