Job TitleDirector Commercial AnalyticsPosition OverviewThe Director, Commercial Analytics is responsible for leading and advancing Shaw Commercial's analytics strategy, capabilities, and team to support business performance, commercial growth, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.The Commercial Analytics function has evolved into a critical business capability supporting Commercial leadership, Sales, Pricing, Forecasting, Finance, Market Insights, CRM, and strategic planning. This role builds upon that strong foundation by expanding the organization's ability to translate data, analytics, forecasting inputs, advanced analytical capabilities, and emerging technologies into measurable business outcomes. This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days a week in office.The Director serves as a strategic partner to business leadership, helping connect insights across commercial performance, forecasting, customer analytics, pricing, market intelligence, productivity, and growth initiatives. Working closely with Strategy & Insights leadership, Enterprise IT, and cross-functional business teams, the role ensures Commercial continues to maximize the value of its investments in analytics, data platforms, business intelligence, and advanced analytics capabilities. Success in this role is measured through the organization's ability to leverage data, analytics, forecasting, and decision support to improve business performance, productivity, planning, growth, and leadership decision-making.Responsibilities:Commercial Analytics Strategy and Business PartnershipLead the Commercial Analytics vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap in alignment with Commercial and Strategy & Insights priorities.Translate business priorities into a balanced portfolio of analytics capabilities, data products, forecasting tools, dashboards, performance insights, and advanced analytical initiatives.Serve as a strategic advisor to Commercial leadership by connecting analytics, insights, and decision support to measurable business outcomes.Identify opportunities to expand the use of analytics in commercial planning, performance management, opportunity identification, resource allocation, and business execution.Ensure analytics investments support improvements in commercial growth, sales productivity, customer engagement, margin performance, forecasting accuracy, and overall business effectiveness.Performance, Forecasting and Decision SupportPartner with Commercial leadership, IBP, Demand Planning, Finance, Pricing, Market Insights, CRM, Enterprise IT, and Strategy & Insights to strengthen the organizationโ€™s use of analytics in business planning and performance management.Lead the development of performance frameworks, leading indicators, scenario modeling, business performance analysis, and forward-looking insights that support proactive decision-making.Integrate commercial performance, pipeline activity, customer trends, product performance, pricing insights, market signals, and forecasting inputs into meaningful business recommendations.Help business leaders understand performance drivers, risks, opportunities, and tradeoffs through clear, actionable analytics and insights.Advanced Analytics, AI and Analytics Ecosystem LeadershipLead Commercialโ€™s advanced analytics and innovation roadmap, including opportunities for predictive analytics, AI-enabled insights, automation, data science, and advanced modeling.Prioritize and scale high-value analytics capabilities that improve decision quality, productivity, customer understanding, forecasting visibility, and market opportunity analysis.Provide strategic leadership for Commercialโ€™s analytics ecosystem, including Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, semantic models, curated datasets, data products, and related reporting and analytical solutions.Partner with Enterprise IT and enterprise data teams to ensure alignment with architecture, governance, security, data quality, modernization, scalability, and adoption priorities.Ensure data assets, reporting solutions, analytical models, and insights remain reliable, accessible, explainable, business relevant, and tied to measurable value.Organizational Leadership, Talent Development and Executive InfluenceLead and develop a high-performing analytics organization across business intelligence, analytics engineering, data engineering, and data science capabilities.Build a culture grounded in business partnership, accountability, innovation, continuous learning, technical excellence, and measurable impact.Provide coaching, mentoring, performance management, succession planning, cross-training, and professional development for analytics team members.Establish clear priorities, operating rhythms, and stakeholder engagement practices aligned to business objectives.Build strong relationships across Commercial leadership and key cross-functional partners, translating complex analytical and technical concepts into clear business language.Lead executive presentations, strategic reviews, planning discussions, and business performance conversations that promote confidence, adoption, and effective use of analytics across the Commercial organization.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Information Systems, or a related field.10+ years of progressive experience in analytics, business intelligence, commercial analytics, data strategy, analytics engineering, data science, or related disciplines.Demonstrated experience leading analytics teams and developing technical talent.Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand sales, pricing, customer, product, forecasting, operational, and financial performance drivers.Experience influencing senior leadership through data, insights, and business recommendations.Experience leading analytics initiatives from strategy and roadmap development through adoption and business value realization.Strong knowledge of modern analytics platforms and tools, including SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, and cloud-based analytics environments.Ability to connect analytical capabilities to measurable business outcomes.Ability to come onsite minimum 3 days a week.Preferred skills and experience:MBA or Master's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field.Experience supporting Commercial Sales, Marketing, Pricing, Revenue Management, Forecasting, Demand Planning, or Business Strategy functions.Experience with Databricks, data engineering, modern data architecture, and analytics operating models.Experience with predictive analytics, forecasting, customer segmentation, opportunity modeling, AI-enabled analytics, or data science applications.Experience in manufacturing, building products, flooring, distribution, or other complex B2B commercial environments.Competencies:Deliver
