Job description

Location flexible, 80% travel. We are seeking a highly skilled Field Services Technician with extensive experience in boilers, heaters, burners, and ancillary equipment. This role requires expertise in commissioning, burner tuning, and troubleshooting across various industrial applications. The technician will travel 80% of the time to job sites across the U.S., often on short notice, and provide remote troubleshooting to customers when needed.
Responsibilities:
  • Commission industrial boilers, heaters, burners, and ancillary equipment. Commission control systems.
  • Perform precise burner tuning, ensuring optimal combustion efficiency and emissions compliance.
  • Troubleshoot PLC programming issues, including logic errors and integration with control systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve wiring and electrical problems, ensuring safe and reliable equipment operation.
  • Travel extensively (80% of the time) throughout the U.S., with the ability to respond quickly to urgent service requests.
  • Provide remote troubleshooting assistance to customers via phone, guiding them through technical challenges.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and industry regulations at all job sites.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, maintaining professionalism and responsiveness both onsite and over the phone.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in field service within the boiler, heater, or adjacent industrial industry.
  • Expertise in burner tuning, combustion optimization, and emissions control.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming, integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve wiring and programming errors efficiently.
  • Experience in equipment installation, construction, and commissioning of industrial heating systems.
  • Willingness to travel 80% of the time with the ability to mobilize on short notice.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, ensuring positive client interactions both onsite and remotely.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities in high-pressure environments.
