Job Description:

Stain Formulation Specialist

Wilsonart, Greenville, has an immediate opening for a Stain Formulation Specialist. The specialist will make pre-booth quality checks of equipment. Mixing paint and stains utilizing MaestroHue under the direction of the Operations Manager. Performs other tasks as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Perform pre-booth quality inspections of equipment to ensure optimal operation.
  • Accurately mix paints and stains using MaestroHue and other approved tools or systems.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures when handling hazardous materials.
  • Consistently meet daily production and quality targets to support site goals.
  • Keep all work areas-including the paint mixing room, spray booth, and related equipment-clean, organized, and in proper working condition.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Comprehensive understanding of safety standards and applicable regulations related to the work environment.
  • Effective communication skills suited for a distribution or production setting.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer proficiency to perform standard work-related transactions.
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills, including precise measurement and proportion calculations for mixing colors.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to match stains and paints accurately; must be able to pass a color vision test as required.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new processes, tools, and techniques.
  • Prior warehouse experience preferred; flexibility to perform warehouse duties as business needs require.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE

  • 1+ years' experience working with mixing/matching stains and paints.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Continuously stand/walk or lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight (20-50lbs) Examples: Nurses, LVNs and physical therapists

ENVIRONMENT: Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff
