Job description

Job Summary:
The Waterfront Rescue Mission, recognized in 2025 as one of the Best Christian Workplaces in the country, is hiring a positive, highly productive, safety-minded and team oriented Driver to join our team at the Recycling and Donation Center in Pensacola, FL.
Drives ministry's trucks todonor locations and picks-up donated items. Performs all preventive maintenancechecks and informs supervisor of items needing repair and items that createsafety deficiencies. Perform allreasonably related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
To perform this jobsuccessfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of theknowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may bemade to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essentialfunctions.
Christian Values Commitment: Must respect and uphold the mission andvalues of the ministry and possess high level of ethics, honesty and character.
Education andExperience: High school diploma orgeneral education degree (GED); or one to three months related experienceand/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid state driver's license andbe insurable by the WRM insurance carrier. Must be willing to sign the Waterfront Rescue Mission's Statementof Mission and Values.
NO CDL REQUIRED
  • Performsdaily inspection of truck using the DOT inspection form.
  • Operatestruck to acquire donations for the ministry
  • Makesdeterminations regarding if the donations are acceptable based on WRM's qualitystandards
  • Loadsand unloads donations in a systematic way that promotes best use of space andminimizes damage to the donated items.
  • Mustbe able to communicate with donors in a professional manner.
  • Fillsout daily reports regarding vehicle routes and donation.
  • Maintainsprofessional appearance and hygiene.
  • Maintainsappearance of the truck.
  • Maintainsall equipment used on the truck (straps, dollies, furniture covers)
