What You'll DoAs a Respiratory Therapist at UPMC Cole, you'll play a vital role in supporting patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. Your responsibilities will include:
• Evaluating medical orders and interpreting clinical data to guide treatment
• Operating and adjusting ventilators, oxygen therapy systems, and aerosol delivery devices
• Monitoring patient responses and performing diagnostic tests
• Assisting with emergency situations and transporting ventilated patients
• Educating patients and mentoring students or new staff
• Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring equipment safety

Qualifications:• You must be a
graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (approved by CoARC).
•
OR if you're a student with a
temporary license, you can start working
with HR approval and official transcripts.
• You need to have
Basic Life Support (BLS) or
CPR certification that includes both classroom and hands-on training.
• You must earn your
Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRTT) credential from the
National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) before your temporary permit expires.
• If you received your CRTT
after July 1, 2002, you'll need to
keep your certification up to date according to NBRC requirements.
*RRTs and CRTs will be considered. Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary based his/her individual experience, education, and certifications.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT)
- Osteopathic Respiratory Care OR Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP)
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
