Job description

In person role.  Located at the Sequoia Choice Learning Lab at Sequoia Pathfinder- Verrado

Sequoia Choice Arizona Distance Learning is an online school that delivers curriculum and courses to students in a variety of settings.  Academic Centers provide a work space for students to successfully complete course work in a classroom-like setting.  Academic Centers combine a traditional classroom with an online learning environment.  Students are able to work at their own pace, but also have an Academic Coach who provides face-to-face guidance and support with the online courses that are taught by highly-qualified teachers. 

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain and report attendance as the representative agent for all students
  • Report grades for courses such as Journey, orientation, and site specific
  • Create the appropriate graduation plan for each student
  • Work with school counselor to ensure accurate graduation plan
  • Facilitate student enrollment process
  • Order appropriate courses for the students as dictated by the graduation plan
  • Facilitate competency credit evaluations with the Sequoia Choice counselor
  • Attend all meeting and trainings as required
  • Act as an Sequoia Choice employee liaison in the partner relationship
  • Liaison between teachers, Sequoia Choice administration, and students
  • Maintain classroom structure
  • Participate as a team member for the Student Support Team, and sped services
  • Work with Sequoia Choice administration and teacher regarding course discipline issues such as plagiarism, academic dishonesty, and inappropriate communications
  • Provide or direct students to interventions as expected by the online teacher
  • Check and communicate student progress on a regular basis
  • Enter necessary testing codes and proctor final exams
  • Check for course completion prior to starting a final exam for students
  • Ensure benchmark test completion
  • Proctor state testing
  • Check student progress on a regular basis
  • Provide interventions as needed
  • Participate in Special Education and 504 meetings as requested
  • Document and provide feedback regarding student progress, concerns, and successes
  • Keep all technology in working order
  • Report technology problems to Sequoia Choice, teacher or tech support as needed
  • Working knowledge of course structure, and other tools to be used by the students such as: Khan Academy, Zoom, and ELMS

Required Qualifications:

* IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
*High School Diploma or higher is required
* Experience in an educational setting preferred
* Strong computer and technology skills
