Dispatcher - Logistics & Transportation Operations
Transportation Coordination | Dispatch | Cold Chain Logistics Support

Location: Onsite
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Pay Rate: $24.00 per hour
Overtime: Required as needed

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and fast-paced Dispatcher to support daily transportation, freight coordination, and delivery operations within a logistics and cold chain environment. This role is responsible for scheduling delivery routes, coordinating drivers, monitoring shipments, and ensuring timely, compliant service across all transportation activities.


The Dispatcher serves as the primary communication link between drivers, airports, customer service teams, and internal operations. This individual must be able to manage multiple priorities, respond quickly to shipment changes, and maintain accurate documentation while ensuring cold chain integrity and operational efficiency.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with dispatch, transportation, logistics, shipping, or warehouse coordination experience who thrives in a high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily delivery routes and schedules to maximize driver efficiency and on-time performance
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, customer service teams, and internal operations staff
  • Manage high-volume inbound and outbound calls with drivers, customers, and partner offices
  • Coordinate freight recovery and tender processes at local airports
  • Monitor drivers to ensure customer pickup and delivery expectations are met
  • Ensure freight is recovered promptly and all pickup and delivery instructions are properly communicated and executed
  • Break down freight upon return to the office and ensure proper storage procedures are followed
  • Monitor and maintain cold chain integrity for shipments arriving from airports and freight awaiting clearance or delivery
  • Prepare and replenish packaging materials and cold chain supplies for client pickups as needed
  • Support cold chain management including:
    • Gel pack preparation
    • Packaging refurbishment
    • Packaging configuration
  • Monitor shipment clearance status and update notes for customer service teams and origin offices
  • Monitor all 'On-Hold' shipments pending export or delivery approval
  • Maintain and update outbound flight monitoring systems
  • Respond promptly to personal and group email accounts
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, regulatory requirements, and standard operating procedures
  • Assist leadership team members with daily operational needs and support functions
  • Maintain individual training records, certifications, and required testing completion
  • Report complaints, shipment concerns, or operational issues to management immediately
  • Support overtime needs and additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2-3 years of experience in dispatch, logistics, transportation, shipping, warehouse operations, or a related field required
  • Experience in cold chain logistics or freight coordination preferred
  • Previous experience working with transportation scheduling and shipment tracking systems preferred

  • Comfortable working across office, warehouse, airport, and refrigerated environments

Work Environment

This role requires working in both office and warehouse settings depending on daily operational needs. Associates may be required to temporarily enter walk-in refrigeration and freezer units to support cold chain handling. Thermal apparel is provided.

This position may also require temporary work inside trucks during freight loading and offloading activities.

Candidates must be comfortable working in a physically active logistics environment while maintaining high levels of organization and communication.
