Job description

At Neurona Therapeutics, we are developing transformative cell therapies for patients with serious neurological disorders. We are seeking a Senior Manager, Supply Chain to lead supply chain and warehouse operations supporting late-stage clinical GMP manufacturing and future commercial readiness.
Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Operations, this position is responsible for developing and executing supply chain strategies that ensure the reliable, compliant, and cost-effective availability of GMP materials across the organization. The Senior Manager will oversee procurement, inventory management, warehouse operations, supplier performance, and material planning while building scalable systems and processes to support organizational growth.
This leader will partner closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Process Development, Facilities, Finance, and external suppliers to ensure uninterrupted operations, optimize inventory and working capital, mitigate supply risk, and strengthen operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of inbound supply chain operations, including procurement, material planning, inventory management, warehouse operations, and supplier management.
  • Lead supply chain support for Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) and other external manufacturing partners, coordinating material planning, procurement, inventory, logistics, and production readiness to ensure uninterrupted supply and successful manufacturing campaigns.
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that ensure uninterrupted support of GMP manufacturing while balancing cost, inventory, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee GMP warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, material issuance, and compliant material flow.
  • Ensure availability of GMP raw materials, consumables, and manufacturing supplies through effective planning, forecasting, and supplier engagement.
  • Manage refrigerated, frozen, and cryogenic inventory while ensuring product integrity and compliance with cold chain requirements.
  • Establish inventory strategies, safety stock levels, and replenishment processes to support manufacturing schedules and business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, monitor performance, and develop risk mitigation and business continuity plans.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Process Development, Facilities, Finance, and Technical Operations on manufacturing readiness, capacity planning, supplier qualification, technology transfer, and material lifecycle management.
  • Ensure accurate inventory records, material traceability, ERP/MRP transactions, and compliance with GMP documentation requirements.
  • Lead and support deviations, investigations, CAPAs, change controls, supplier quality events, internal audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that improve efficiency, inventory accuracy, scalability, and operational performance.
  • Develop supply chain metrics and KPIs to monitor performance and drive data-based decision making.
  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse and supply chain personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support expansion of supply chain capabilities, systems, and processes to enable commercial manufacturing and global distribution.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related discipline; APICS CPIM, CSCP, or other relevant supply chain certification preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, materials management, logistics, planning, or manufacturing operations within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, cell therapy, gene therapy, or biologics industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end supply chain activities, including procurement of GMP raw materials, inventory management, warehouse operations, material planning, and distribution of finished goods.
  • Experience supporting Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) and external supply partners, ensuring timely availability of raw materials, kitted manufacturing components, and study or commercial materials
  • Experience managing domestic and international shipments, including refrigerated, frozen, cryogenic, and other cold chain logistics for GMP materials and finished products.
  • Strong understanding of GMP supply chain operations, inventory control, material traceability, packaging, labeling, distribution, and chain of identity/chain of custody requirements.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and inventory, planning, procurement, and logistics transactions.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives with Manufacturing, Quality, Technical Operations, Clinical Operations, Finance, and external partners to ensure continuity of supply and operational readiness.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive operational execution in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with demonstrated success influencing stakeholders across all organizational levels and external partners.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience developing teams, improving business processes, and implementing scalable supply chain systems and performance metrics.
Preferred
  • Experience supporting late-stage clinical or commercial manufacturing.
  • Cell and gene therapy experience.
  • Experience managing external manufacturing networks, contract testing laboratories, or third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
  • Experience with global distribution, import/export compliance, and cold chain logistics.
  • Experience implementing or optimizing ERP, WMS, or supply chain planning systems.
