Cold Chain Specialist
?
Responsible for overseeing and managing cold chain processes and procedures within the region to ensure we maintain a premium logistics offering to our healthcare clients. This role involves supporting temperature-controlled shipping solutions, processes improvements, innovation evolution, and adherence to Good Distribution Practice (GDP) principles, while also ensuring that all cold chain packaging elements are documented and maintained according to industry standards.
Job Description
• Assist in maintaining all elements of cold chain packaging, including qualification of new packaging systems, ensuring documentation is up to date according to Good Documentation Practice.
• Document and maintain sector metrics regarding cold chain; vendor utilization, spend, processes, etc.
• Support inventory management of packaging and temperature monitoring equipment, ensuring adequate supplies are available for projects.
• Document and educate business partners on proper storage requirements (CFR storage requirements)
• Assist in reviewing SOPs with the Quality Assurance team to support continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
• Participate in training sessions related to Cold Chain procedures and processes, including packaging and temperature/GPS logger systems.
• Support the review of CAPA reports related to cold chain processes and provide input for corrective and preventative actions.
• Assist in training on controlled temperature packaging and GPS/temperature logging solutions.
• Assist in qualification protocols and reports for in-house performance qualifications of temperature-controlled packaging solutions and sensors.
• Support internal and external inquiries from on cold chain matters.
• Assist Commercial and Pricing teams with advice on suitable packaging solutions for pricing requests.
• Support Quality Assurance team with audits, including client and regulatory audits.
• Work alongside engineering to document and standardize processing flows within the distribution center.
• Stay informed about new technological advances in cold chain logistics and report findings to the Cold Chain Manager
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent 4 years work experience required.
• 3+ years' experience in cold chain packaging systems and temperature monitoring solutions required.
• Experience in qualification and validation of temperature controller shipping solutions and storage areas required.
• Experience in cold chain packaging solutions, including refrigerated trucks and cold rooms required
• Strong understanding of cold chain logistics, including temperature controller storage, packaging and transportation required.
• Experience in WMS preferred.
• Experience in premium logistics in Life Science preferred.
