Our Mission

At Verb, our vision is to grow a hospitality-driven, quality-first coffee company where people connect to something bigger than themselves. We aim to become a long-standing part of every community we enter—locally and globally—by building spaces rooted in connection, care, and creativity.

Our goals are guided by intention: to serve the highest quality coffee possible, uplift those who grow it, and create everyday, meaningful moments for our guests.

We see success not in scale, but in depth—measured by the strength of our relationships, the growth of our team, and the positive impact we leave behind. Looking ahead, our aspirations include expanding with purpose, developing future leaders, and setting a new standard for what it means to be a coffee company of action, quality, and integrity.

Your Role at Verb

As a Barista, you are the heart of our café experience. You bring our values to life by offering intentional hospitality, quality craftsmanship, and a sense of belonging to every person who walks through our doors.

This role calls for someone who is people-focused, passionate about specialty coffee, and committed to continuous growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Genuinely engage with every guest—providing thoughtful, personal service with attention, kindness, and professionalism
  • Operate the POS and guide guests through the menu, answer questions, offer recommendations, and serve as a friendly coffee educator
  • Dial in espresso daily and make adjustments for optimal flavor, quality, and consistency
  • Handcraft every drink with care, precision, and intention—upholding high standards for recipe accuracy, temperature, taste, and presentation
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to run food and drinks, ensuring timeliness and guest satisfaction
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, including bar, condiment stations, café floor, and restrooms
  • Support the team with prep, restocking, daily checklists, side work, and other tasks assigned by the Verb leadership team
  • Grow with us—we’re passionate about developing leaders and creating a work environment where your voice matters and your growth is prioritized

What We’re Looking For

  • 18+ years old
  • A passion for people and hospitality—a desire to serve, uplift, and create meaningful experiences
  • A desire to improve coffee knowledge and bar skills, along with a strong understanding of espresso preparation and latte art
  • Composure and efficiency during high-volume, fast-paced shifts
  • A desire to learn, improve, and innovate—especially in coffee craft and customer experience
  • Commitment to cleanliness and health standards, maintaining a tidy, organized workspace
  • A team-first mindset—you work well with others and want to help everyone succeed
  • Openness to feedback and a humble, teachable spirit
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Professional, reliable, punctual, and ready to show up fully to each shift

Why Join Verb Coffee

  • Intentional Craftsmanship – We thoughtfully create and prepare our offerings with a focus on quality, consistency, and purpose.
  • Community Investment – We actively support and engage with the communities we serve, building relationships that extend beyond our café walls.
  • People-First Hospitality – Every guest interaction matters. We strive to create welcoming spaces where people feel valued and connected.
  • Ethical Practices – We believe in doing business responsibly, making decisions that positively impact our customers, partners, and team members.
  • A Passion for Coffee Culture – We are lifelong students of coffee, committed to excellence, innovation, and sharing our passion with others.
