Kitchen & Coffee Shop Manager


Position Summary Lead and manage all aspects of kitchen and coffee shop operations for a mission-driven organization. This role combines culinary expertise, operational oversight, and team leadership to deliver high-quality food and beverages, exceptional customer service, and a positive work environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and treats the business with ownership and accountability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve high-quality pizzas, café menu items, and beverages
  • Oversee daily kitchen and coffee shop operations, improving efficiency and quality
  • Develop new menu items, specials, and catering offerings
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and café
  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff and volunteers
  • Manage scheduling, POS systems, inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships
  • Track sales, expenses, and operational metrics; assist with budgets and pricing
  • Support events, catering, and organizational programs
  • Engage with the local community to promote the café and drive customer traffic and sales
  • Identify and implement marketing and outreach opportunities to increase visibility and revenue
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented culture while leading by example


Qualifications

  • Experience managing a commercial kitchen or food service operation
  • Experience in café or coffee shop environments preferred
  • Leadership or supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of food safety
  • ServSafe Food Manager's Certification is required
  • Strong organizational skills, multitasking ability, and customer-focused mindset


Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced, hands-on environment with frequent standing and lifting (~40 lbs)
