Job description

Code Sensei (Instructor) โ€” Code Ninjas Seattle

We are actively hiring for our Sensei team. We're looking for enthusiastic people who can commit to flexible afternoon and Saturday hours during the school year. We offer comprehensive training and genuine support from our close-knit team to help you thrive in this role. If you're looking for a fun, meaningful job where your work really matters โ€” this is it.

Code Ninjas is the nation's fastest-growing kids coding franchise. In our center, kids ages 7โ€“14 learn to code in a fun, non-intimidating way โ€” by building awesome projects in Blockly, JavaScript, Unity, Godot, Roblox Studio, and Minecraft. Kids have a blast and can't wait to come back. Parents are thrilled as their children gain confidence and new skills including coding, math, logic, and problem-solving as they progress from white to black belt. Our core promise is simple: kids have fun, parents see results. We believe in it so much it's written on the walls.

We're looking for an enthusiastic, people-person to join our team and help create a fun, safe learning environment for kids. Our Code Senseis are the heart of our center โ€” coaching students, sparking curiosity, and keeping the energy up. No advanced coding background required; we'll train you on everything you need. This is a fantastic opportunity for an outgoing high school student looking to build real resume experience, develop leadership and communication skills, and stand out in college applications. It's also a great fit for college students and anyone with a passion for working with kids.

Flexible hours โ€” afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays

6โ€“15 hrs/week

Fun, fast-paced environment

Learn the curriculum and offer one on one guidance to our Ninjas (Makecode, JavaScript, Unity, Godot, Roblox Studio, Minecraft โ€” we use it all)

Create a positive, safe environment where students can grow and have fun

Guide students through skill levels and celebrate their coding wins

Lead awesome Parent's Night Out and birthday party events

Keep the dojo clean, organized, and ready for action

Work opening and closing shifts

Check in regularly with the Center Manager on daily activities

Experience working with kids in any capacity โ€” coaching, tutoring, babysitting, mentoring

Outgoing, energetic, and genuinely fun to be around

Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same

Works well with others and takes direction easily

Basic familiarity with coding or technology โ€” or a willingness to pick it up quickly

Experience with the general public a plus

Flexible scheduling built around your life

Comprehensive on-the-job training โ€” no experience with our curriculum required

A close-knit, supportive team where your work genuinely matters

Real experience mentoring and teaching kids โ€” great for college applications and future careers in education, engineering, or computer science

Compensation: $17.50 - $21.50 per hour
