Job description

Benefits:

  • Training & development

CODE SENSEI (INSTRUCTOR) - Code Ninjas Seattle
We are actively hiring for flexible summer hours to support our summer camp program, with on-the-job training toward a regular Sensei role during the school year. If you're looking for a fun, meaningful way to spend your summer - this is it.
Who are we?
Code Ninjas is the nation's fastest-growing kids coding franchise. In our center, kids ages 7-14 learn to code in a fun, non-intimidating way - by playing and building video games they love. Kids have a blast and can't wait to come back. Parents are thrilled as their children gain confidence and new skills including coding, math, logic, and problem-solving as they progress from white to black belt. Our core promise is simple: kids have fun, parents see results. We believe in it so much it's written on the walls.
What are we looking for?
We're looking for an enthusiastic, people-person to join our team and help create a fun, safe learning environment for kids. Our Code Senseis are the heart of our center - coaching students, sparking curiosity, and keeping the energy up. No advanced coding background required; we'll train you on everything you need.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an outgoing high school student looking to build real resume experience, develop leadership and communication skills, and stand out in college applications. It's also a great fit for college students and anyone with a passion for working with kids.
Schedule & Hours
  • Flexible summer hours - Mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends
  • 6-15 hrs/week
  • Fun, fast-paced environment

Responsibilities
  • Complete our training program and learn the curriculum
  • Create a positive, safe environment where students can grow and have fun
  • Work with students to assess skill levels and guide their progress
  • Provide feedback to parents after student tours and sessions
  • Keep the dojo clean and organized throughout the day
  • Follow opening and closing duties
  • Check in regularly with the Center Manager on daily activities

Qualifications
  • Experience working with kids in any capacity - coaching, tutoring, babysitting, mentoring
  • Outgoing, energetic, and genuinely fun to be around
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same
  • Works well with others and takes direction easily
  • Basic familiarity with coding or technology - or a willingness to pick it up quickly
  • Experience with the general public a plus

What We Offer
  • Flexible scheduling built around your life
  • On-the-job training - no experience with our curriculum required
  • A close-knit, family-run center where your work genuinely matters
  • Real experience mentoring and teaching kids - great for college applications and future careers in education, engineering, or computer science

Think you've got what it takes to be a Sensei? Apply with a brief intro and tell us a little about your experience with kids.
Compensation: $17.50 - $21.50 per hour
