SUMMER CAMP INSTRUCTOR - Code Ninjas Seattle July 7 - August 15 | Monday-Friday, 8:15am-3:15pm | $20/hr (~$700/wk)
Who are we?
Code Ninjas Seattle is a coding and STEM learning center for kids ages 7-14. This summer marks our 5th year running camps here in Seattle, and we've built something we're proud of - a strong community of returning campers who look forward to it every year, and instructors who've consistently loved being part of it.
The Role
We're looking for one energetic, self-motivated instructor to lead our summer camps. This is a standalone role - you'll be the one running the room, guiding a group of 8-12 kids through weekly themed projects. All curriculum is provided, and you'll have support from our center staff whenever you need it. It's an ideal fit for a college student or recent graduate looking for meaningful, hands-on teaching experience.
Camp topics rotate weekly and include Roblox Studio, Minecraft, Scratch, video editing, 3D design, and more.
Responsibilities
  • Lead daily camp sessions for 8-12 kids ages 7-14, using provided curriculum and materials
  • Create an engaging, inclusive environment where campers feel encouraged to experiment and create
  • Guide students through hands-on projects - troubleshooting, encouraging, and celebrating their wins
  • Manage the full camp day: setup, pacing, transitions, and cleanup
  • Communicate warmly with parents at drop-off and pick-up
  • Capture photos and short video clips for documentation and social media

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in college or a recent graduate - this role is built around your summer availability
  • Genuine enthusiasm for technology, gaming, or creative digital tools
  • Experience working with kids in any capacity - tutoring, coaching, babysitting, camp counseling, or classroom work
  • Comfortable taking ownership of a room; you don't need a script to keep things moving
  • Patient, adaptable, and good at reading a group's energy
  • Familiarity with any of the camp tools (Roblox, Minecraft, Scratch, etc.) is a plus - we'll fill in the gaps

What We Offer
  • $20/hr โ€ข set schedule โ€ข approximately $700/week
  • Six-week seasonal position, Monday-Friday, 8:15am-3:15pm (July 7 - August 15)
  • A close-knit, family-run operation - you'll feel supported, not micromanaged
  • Real impact and great experience for education, CS, or child development rรฉsumรฉs

Ready to unleash your inner coding sensei? Apply with a brief intro and any relevant experience.
Compensation: $700.00 per week
