Log Camp - Code The Future - Learning Assistant Log Camp - Portland, OR Do you love to work with students. Help Log Camp shape the future of technology education. Work with middle and high school students, helping them learn basic computer programming and coding skills at our Code The Future out-of-school coding camps.

Log Camp is a fast-growing technology education nonprofit that provides out-of-school computer programming, computer science, and computer hardware workshops to underserved middle and high school students. Applicants should be comfortable working in fast-paced, creative work environments. Log Camp Learning Assistants help facilitate small-group learning sessions, and guide student projects, training future Javascript developers at our out-of-school camps, and occasional weekend hackacthons.

Technical Knowledge Have a basic understanding of HMTL5, CSS3, and Javascript Have a basic understanding of front-end web frameworks (Bootstrap, Foundation, Semantic, Pure, UIKit) Have knowledge/interest in the MEAN stack (Mongo, Express, Angular, Node) Have knowledge/interest in JS frameworks (Angular, Backbone, Ember, Meteor) Have a basic knowledge/interest in Node.Js servers. Personal Abilities You take pride in your ability to learn new technologies, and figuring out how to solve problems. You are patient, and inquisitive (at least with Technology and working with youth)

You have a positive energy, and are calm when facing pressure, and having to juggle multiple tasks and demands at the same time. Compensation Log Camp Learning Assistant's stipends range from $465 - $1,550, depending on the length of camp. Camps typically run for 2 week, 4 week, or 10 week periods.

Class sessions are typically 2 hours in length.
