DIRECTOR: CONSERVATORY OF DANCE (Part-time)
OVERVIEW:
DeSales University, in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, is a Catholic, private, coeducational, four-year liberal arts university. Founded by the Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales in 1964, the 550-acre suburban campus is located about 50 miles north of Philadelphia and 90 miles southwest of New York City. A total enrollment of nearly 3,000 includes undergraduate day, evening, and graduate students. DeSales has approximately 130 full-time faculty members and offers 50 bachelor's degrees, 14 graduate programs, and a number of certificates in a wide range of disciplines.
In 2024, the University transitioned to a new academic structure featuring a four-college/school model, which includes the Kathleen Waterbury and J.B. Reilly School of Business; a College of Arts, Education, and Humanities with a School of Education and a School of Performing Arts; a College of Sciences; and a College of Healthcare Professions with a designated School of Nursing. POSITION SUMMARY:
The COD Director oversees the administrative tasks of the Conservatory of Dance Program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scheduling classes in consultation with the COD Faculty Instructor, communicating with parents/guardians of enrolled students, advertising the program, updating the Handbooks and associated policies, and coordinating the final spring performance in collaboration with the COD Faculty Instructor. The COD Director reports to and collaborates with the Dance Department Chair to foster a community focused dance program for children while supporting the educational and curricular needs of the Dance Department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3-5 years of dance teaching experience with children ages 3-14 years
  • BA in Dance required, Masters in Dance or Education Preferred
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivate
  • Possess excellent Communication/Interpersonal skills
