Job description

Category-defining tech. Career-defining work.

The next era of software won't operate at human scale. Applications will create applications. Systems will coordinate with systems. Data and decisions will move faster than teams can react to them. The infrastructure powering that world cannot be fragile, reactive, or limited by the assumptions of the past.

Cockroach Labs exists to build what comes next - before the world requires it.

We created CockroachDB to survive failures, scale without compromise, and adapt to changing conditions automatically. Now we're helping define a future where complexity fades into the background and infrastructure simply works, no matter the scale.

This is the kind of challenge that attracts people who want to shape industries, not just participate in them. The work is ambitious, the standards are high, and the impact is real.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced, high-energy Field Marketing Manager to join the Field Marketing team in North America. The primary responsibility for this role will be executing events and targeted ABM programs across the US regions and helping the Field Marketing team to generate engagement and leads within our target accounts.

You will need to leverage your expertise to manage and execute the event and ABM program in order to maximize the return on the investments made. This role is crucial as it directly impacts the company's ability to connect with target audiences, generate leads, and drive sales through well-executed events and targeted programs. You will get to work on a variety of events from large sponsored third party events, small roundtables, to seminars. We are continually aiming to evolve and improve the events we run, and your feedback will be vital to the continued development of the program.

To be eligible for this role, you must be based in the NYC area, and will be expected to go into the office on Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays.

You Will
  • Execute and shape the regional event and ABM program, partnering with Field Marketing and the broader GTM team.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute regional events such as 3rd party conferences, in-person happy hours, roadshows and roundtables often with Partners (ISVs, IBM and Global Providers).
  • Manage event logistics including (but not limited to) venue selection, swag, prize draws and promotional materials.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop compelling event collateral, including signage, handouts, and social media assets.
  • Manage the relationship with our event related vendors, such as the swag vendor.
  • Coordinate pre- and post-event activities including social media strategy, lead capture, and lead upload.
  • Partner with the SDR team to ensure reps are fully briefed and prepared to follow up effectively and maximize ROI.
  • Track campaign success and ROI
  • Regularly analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify new event formats, ABM strategies, and emerging engagement models.
  • Proactively experiment with AI tools and emerging tactics to sharpen ICP targeting and drive process efficiencies.
  • Own program spend and campaign ROI reporting, regularly sharing results and recommendations with the broader marketing team.
You Have
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events and campaigns simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with Sales leaders, the wider GTM team, and internal marketing teams.
  • Proficiency in marketing automation tools, CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), and event management platforms.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • A demonstrated practice of integrating AI tools into your daily workflow to improve speed, quality, and decision-making.
  • A continuous drive to experiment with and adopt better ways of working as tools evolve.
  • Fluency with AI across core tasks (research, drafting, analysis, planning) used as a default, not an exception.
The Expectations

In your first 30 days, you will familiarize yourself with the events and targeted program plan, working with Field Marketing to understand the goals, pipeline needs and target accounts. We believe that it's important for you to take this first month to become familiar with our company, technology, and sales & SDR team.

After 3 months, you'll be fully integrated into the team. You will have started to execute the Field Marketing events and ABM programs and will be working closely with the regional go to market teams.
