Job description

Job Description Summary:

Lead the Process Development & Pilot Plant network for our Global Development & Innovation function (GDI), reporting to President, GDI. This highly critical role is responsible for creating strategies and best practices for Process Technology Development & Pilot Plant operations globally. This role has direct resources accountability for the Atlanta-based process development team and a network integrator role across all GDI process engineering and pilot facilities of the Technical Centers network, i.e.: Atlanta,, Shanghai, Mexico, Japan, and Brussels.

This role will build and lead the implementation of a fit-for-purpose Process Engineering capability present-forward and future-back strategy to ready the appropriate technologies which will enable optimized and competitively advantaged processes for TCCC. This role works in close partnership with Global and Local Category teams in the Innovation centers, Global Supply Chain, CPS, Bottlers, and Research-to-Experimentation.

As the integrator of the pilot plant network this role is critical in the delivery of innovations, business continuity, as well as selected in-market experimentation initiatives.

This is a key role in the design and enablement of the global, multi-year (3-5 years) pipelines and a member of the Global Category (?) and Global Supply Chain networks.

What You'll Do For Us

  • Identify and develop breakthrough processing capabilities to give Coca-Cola System sustainable competitive advantages and unlock topline and bottom-line opportunities (Progress to Technical Readiness Level 6).
  • Responsible for best practices for commercialization of new process technologies to first bottling plant and provide engineering dossier of TRL L6 for subsequent deployment/reapplication of process. In partnership with Supply Chain and technology deployment owner, capture post-launch learnings to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead the GDI Process Engineering and Pilot Plant network to enable the Innovation & Productivity pipelines, as well as help sustain System performance (e.g., Troubleshooting)
  • Provide strategic thought leadership to build and grow capabilities of people and Innovation Center network to be fit for purpose and future ready.
  • Ensure efficient Atlanta pilot plant operations that deliver samples and experiments to the target quality in a safe manner.
  • Strategically influence capital plans to align with capability strategy including effective use of external ecosystems to deliver experiments and prototypes.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with Global Supply Chain, System partners (Bottlers, CPS), OEM suppliers, research ecosystem and Category/OU stakeholders.

Experience

A minimum of 15+ years of leadership experience in process technology development, process technology optimization in CPGs R&D, manufacturing or engineering design environments.

Key Knowledge Requirements

  • Strategic thinking and leadership in process development and operational management, leveraging Supply Chain tools and networks to deliver IP, competitive advantage, and significant value to TCCC.
  • Strong project and portfolio management skills, including experience of multidisciplinary/stakeholder projects and ability to deliver project objectives with tight deadlines.
  • Experience influencing and providing guidance to senior executives on substantive issues in a complex portfolio / networked environment.
  • Connector - ability to connect across the organization lines, regardless of reporting relationships.
  • Deep expertise in Process Engineering across large-scale manufacturing networks.
  • Experience in capital projects process and details, including creating and getting buy-in with a compelling business case.
  • Global or International experience
